VAT key

Whats the cheapest way to get a new VAT key?Ithought I seen somewhere that you could get some numbers off the car and give them to a locksmith and not go to the dealer. thanks

How many PATS keys do you have that will start the truck? If 2 or more you can program more yourself, instructions will be in the owners manual.

Yep, I had two, bought a blank off of Ebay for $15 and had Home Depot cut it for $1. Programmed it and for $16 I had a perfectly working $79 key. But yes, if you only have one, only the dealer can program a second one. This is why I purchased one while I had 2 working keys.
