safety options?

a wise man told me he got in a wreck in his 74 f250. he advised puting in head cushions and a shoulder style seat belt.
the reason , his head punched out the rear window and calapsed his spine. yes, hes short now.

any body done this?

I think shoulder belts are a must. Lap belts keep you from flying out the windshield but they don't keep you from smashing your head on the steering wheel.

You might look into installing a seat with headrests built into them. If you use your existing mounting hardware, you can make later model seats work.

i do alot of demolition derbies....i run cars and trucks.

on the trucks to beef them up if you box in the front frame rails this helps ALOT in a wreck keeping the frame straight. also on swiss cheese frames they like to buckle under the cab, this means bed is stronger than the cab, pushes the back of the cab forward, then seat goes forward and into the wheel you go.

as for the seat YES A HEADREST IS A MUST. we all have helments and no windows. but ive heard stories of guy going backwards and making a hit, neck goes back and helment gets caught on window lip......not cool at all.

i would go into bumpers and cages but i cant see this being a commen thing people will do. if anyone wants to know more just ask.
