Bad shake when locked

Hey all... I have a 1994 F-150 and when i have the manual front lockers engaged the wheel and shifter and the shake is even worse. Its so bad in 4X4 i can't go over 65 without it feeling unsafe. Is this normal? if not how can i fix it?

Wow 65mph. Ive never gone that fast in 4wd. Have you cked your u-joints?

Ya i forgot i was in 4 wheel when i got on the highway. but even when not in 4 wheel and just when the hubs are locked it still shakes.

haven't looked at u-joints yet...what should i look for? Just wear? the truck only has 37k miles on it.

I would look for components being out of balance before looking at the ujoints. Perhaps you threw a weight from your front driveshaft.

a d-shaft weight wont couse a big shake just a mild vibration and mabe not even that,mabe a bent d-shaft or sloppy joints

I had a 88 Wranger with 60K and the axle shaft u-joints were wasted from sitting. They got all rusted and when I used them they got alot of play then.
