Bouncing Needle...
I have noticed that when im driving at 50-65 my speedomiter needle just bounces back and forth between about 2 mph.... Anyone else have this? anything to worry about?
Oh ya and whats the stock top speed of ours trucks? and chiped?

I had this happen on mine a little while ago.
It was a bad fuse in the underhood fuse box that supplies he underdash fuse box.
The tabs were corroded and had poor connection.
If yours is this it could strand you.

When my truck started the bouncing needle bit it ended up being the PSOM (programable speedometer/odometer module) in the cluster. Any other symptoms- hard shifts, dying at intersections? PSOM is an easy fix, you just need a new cluster with a good PSOM and swap them out. The bad part is, your rig will show however many miles the rig the cluster came from had on it because the PSOM stores the mileage info. Another thing you can do which is free is pull the VSS out of the top of the rear diff- if there is a whole bunch of stuff on it clean it off and put it back in. It wouldn't hurt to change your rear end fluid either if the VSS has a lot of junk on it.
