manuel brakes

hi guys converting my 1980 ford f 150 4 x 4 over to manuel brakes, as with my new 408 stroker motor the cams so radical theres not enough vacuum to run the power brakes. Was wondering if anyone might know exactly what all is different?

leave the power brakes on it, and add a vacuum pump like the diesels use.

The diesels should have a hydro system. Uses the power steering to boost the brakes instead of vacum.
You can do that or get a vacum tank like what drag cars use and you should be fine. It holds vacum so you still have brakes when your engine dosen't produce any vacum. When it does it build it up in the tank.

Yeah my wifes chevy had hydro power brakes. Thats a good idea!

the idi diesels had vacuum pumps. they only cost around $100
