FE, more inches=more power. exspessially torque which is the street winner every time.

390 is about 650, 302 is about 550.

The nifty thing about the windsors are that the 351 is out to 427cubes on a stock block. You can have an engine with a big block appetite in a small block package. Deal is the 427W is still an RPM motor due to it's internal geometry.

One of teh magazines did a 428FE 427W buildup and comparison using basically equal parts. the engines carried roughly the same power (428 came out on top), but the 428 did everything about 1,000 RPM below the 427.

Now a better comparison would be a 393W and a 390 FE since they'd be the same bore and stroke (give or take a little), but the FE would have it's better internal geometry.

If only i had money. . . .

Unless you can benefit from the smaller overall dimension of the W (not to mention the smaller C4 tranny), go FE, but then I'm partial...
