Ok I know this is a stupid question and the answer is NO but by any chance is the wiring harness for an E4OD the same as one for a 4R70W??? I need one for the 4R70W in my 95 in my sig. Mine got ripped in half and the whole back half is gone and ripped off the tranny. So I need a new harness...went to ford...they stoped making it in 03...they gave me a junkyard to call that was suppoosedly linked to ford dealers and they said no...ive called every junkyard around and done all these parts searches in junkyards...answers are still all NO!! I cant find one anywhere...I did find 1 E4OD harness...thats it...any ideas??? I was told I can take it to the local auto elec shop and they will make me a whole back half of the harness...but I dont know if i want to trust a jerry rigged harness...Id rather have a whole new stock one. Anyone got ideas??? Im Stuck!!!
Did a google search for ya. Maybe this might help you out. Maybe you can find a harness off one of those year cars.
4R70W
A revised version of the AODE was released in 1993 with the Lincoln Mark VIII. 4R70W stands for 4 gears, Rearwheeldrive, 70x10=700 ftlb load capacity at the output of the torque converter and Wide gear ratio. It has lower 1st and 2nd gear ratios for better take-off acceleration and improved gearset strength. On vehicles powered by a 5.4 L V8, a stronger gearset is used than in normal duty 4R70Ws. In 1998, due to durability concerns, the intermediate one-way roller clutch was replaced with a mechanical diode providing extra holding capacity and longer service.
With all the new components added to the 4R70w since 1993, Ford decided to designate newer transmissions with the name 4R75W so that an older transmission would not be used in the newer vehicles.
The most practical modification for the 4R70W is the J-mod. It is a shift kit specified by one of the Ford engineers that designed the transmission. It offers quicker shifting, smoother operation, and increased service life. All parts can be bought at Ford dealers for less than $60.
A 20,000+ GVW cooler is highly recommended with or without a shift kit. Breakdown of the friction modifier in the fluid often results in "converter shudder" (feels like driving over rumble strips) where converter tries to lock up, but slips.
Thank you all very much...heres the deal...im searching car-parts.com as we speak and all I can find are ones for the AOD tranny...I know the AOD was the precurser for the 4r70w (same design) but dont know wether the wiring harness's would hook up. I search 87-96 F150s came up with like 60 pages so far ive made it through 15 of them 96-94 all say AOD...I didnt think they put AOD in this late of a year??? So Im taking there all mistakes and are 4r70w tranny's????
Im going to be pullin the MAF, harness, ecu, and i will prob take that trans harness also while im there. Ill prob go back in a few days. So just let me know if you need it or not.
