I Have Been Working On My 89 F1504x4 For A While And Have About Everything Fixed But When I Checked The Trans Fluid It Had Gear Oil In It And Not Atf I Have No Clue How Long Its Been In There, How Much Damage Will This Cause? It Shifts Fine But There Is A Small Knock In It, That Might Be Throwout Bearing Not Sure.

You can use either atf, or gear oil. I believe ford used atf from factory. Some shop could have switched to gear oil to cover up a sound. That knock your talking about, does it make the sound when your foot has the clutch pressed, or depressed. When its pressed thats the throwout bearing. If its when its released then its the pilot. Unless its the trans its self.
