Post '73 Merc 429

I have a great big 1973 Merc Marq Brhm, that has a 429
in it. I want to put the 429 in my '27 TT. But, I want
someone to give me suggestions for what He/She thinks is the
best (Most reliable, and Most Cost-effective)way to get better HP
from it. It's pretty doggy, right now. The heads are NOT DOVE
cast, but they have a casting #D3VE.. which is close, but I was told
by a "Ford Guy", that that is just a number.
I used to have a set of 11.5:1 comp. heads (From a '71 Merc Marq Boat), but sold them to a guy [with the rest of the car attached] for a mere 125 bucks. My butt is sore from kicking myself, for that one.
Power to weight ratio should be pretty good; stock; but I just want to have "a little extra", yaknow... cuz it'll be a rod.

Also, anyone with a Good clean Ford Station Wagon ROOF they want to give me, let me know... My hiboy needs a cap!

If ya make a post-reply to this message, please drop me a line, as I don't do a lot of "surfing" anymore..WAY too much commercialism!

Thanx in advance..

the d3ve head is pretty common. the ford guy is right when he said it is just a number. but it is a number that has a meaning or ford would not have cast it into the head. the head you have is not a performance head as far as i know. but that dont mean that w/ a little bit of work it wont be a better head.
