oily clutch

what causes a clutch to become oily/greasy? and how do you prevent this from happening? how do you keep a new replacement clutch from getting oily/greasy? jeff

You did not say what engine you have, but if it is a 352FE the rear intake maybe leaking down though the bellhousing or the rear main seal is leaking. Also, do you have the splash shield on the front of the bellhousing?
