What in the world do those cones in the hoses from the air cleaner to the throttle plate do. They look to me like one H**l of a restriction I cut mine off and the truck runs easier and is about 7 mph faster in my improvised 1/4 mile acceleration test. The manufactures can only have so much sound, in decibles's @ 3 ft. distance(I think) from the vehical. The less noise coming from the engine compartment, the louder the exhaust/driveline can be and still pass EPA sound levels. Intake tracts tend to "honk" louder without the restriction (run's better too!).
