Heater kickout?
Headed down the road this evening, running empty and no trailer. It's about 0 degrees F, and I had been running about 4 hours at ~55MPH. Ran up a series of steep grades just before I hit the hotel. The temperature gauge did not even seem to budge above it's normal reading. There seemed to be no power problem, but I lost heat in the cab.
Well, I was running with the temp control about 1/2 way between hot and cold. The air output went cool, but definitely warmer than outside. If I turned the temp control to cold, I got freezing air, but if I turned the control all the way to hot I got cool air. This was on all settings ( vent, foot, vent/defrost, and foot/defrost ). I suffered through to my exit. Once I got off the freeway and on the sidestreets to the hotel, the heat came back like normal ( plently of hot air ).
No leaks, or other problems that are obvious in the dark. I had the waterpump replace just before thanksgiving ( 5000 miles ago ). Any thoughts?
Thx's, Fred (jyblood@nwi.net)
