I have a 98 with power locks and windows. The driver side will lock but not unlock. The passenger side will not do either. BUT, the remotes will lock and unlock the doors..... The power windows work find... I have checked the fuses and everything is fine......
Thank you... From Southeast iowa here... On the driver side, the locks will lock BUT not unlock.. On the passenger side, it will NOT lock or unlock..... are there wires conecting the locks? could they be bad? how hard is it to take the panel off?? thanks
okay sorry... i'm still a little lost. you have a lock/unlock switch on both doors right?
I was asking if it does the same thing for both switches?
Are you telling me that the drivers switch will lock both doors but won't unlock them.
and the passenger swith does nothing?
I'd take the switches out and look at them, if your remote lock/unlocks them fine, it must be something with the switches.
NOTE: You don't have to take the whole door apart if you are just looking at the switches, they should just pull out. But the door is easy to take apart, it's held in with clips, lift up and pull off. be careful not to break the plastic clips in this cold weather.
umm... it's been a while.. I think if you look at the switch it is attached to a piece of plastic that is seperate from the rest of the door.
Just get underneath the plastic with a flathead screwdriver and pop it up.
watch out when you start disconnecting the harness' from the switches.. the power mirror switch has small peices that fall out if you are holding it upside down ........ hence why my power mirrors don't work at the moment.
Howdy y'all. I bot a 99 F150 4wd Supercab bout 1 1/2 years ago. Thot it had about 100,000 but odom didn't work. Got it to working about 5 months ago, & lo n behold it had 267000. It has 284000 now & still no big probs, just a pinion seal. Oh, & I'm having a problem with the rotors warping. Not sure what's causing that.
