Anyone had this problem with DP tuner?

So, I was going along and realized I needed to stop and look at the hitch to see if I remembered my hitch pin, (I didn't I had left it on the bumper like an idiot and it fell off somewhere, but I digress, back on topic) and I open the door to get out of the truck and it dies and the F5 has no light. I check the connection and it seems tight to the back, and I push the selector switches and nothing changes. I turn the key to the off position and wait a second or two, and turn it to the on position and everything lights back up and I start her up and everything runs fine for the rest of the day.

Anyone ever had anything like that happen to them?

Well, maybe, kinda, but not the same.

first did you raise the tilt steering, while you were opening the door? I have been working on a similar problem and Rampage (Chris) kinda helped me figure it out I think. After retracing my steps I realize that I did move my tilt steering yesterday, and friday when my truck quit. see here https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ift-wires.html

I think I have a pinched wire in there somewhere.

Also check to make sure your outer wire harness(engine side firewall) is bolted securely into the PCM.

I never had it happen before. I just opened the door. I didn't move the wheel.

by checking the connection to the back im assuming that you just checked to the back of the seletor switch right? well have u checked to make sure that the chip its self is completely plugged ino the computer. I know that one time my truck kept starting and then dying just a few seconds afterwards because the e-brake caught the cable to the F5 switch and pulled the chip part of the way out. So maybe the chip has been pulled/vibrated off its connection?

I have noticed something like that also. With mine if I change the setting on my F5 before I crank the truck it will die after a few seconds. Because people said that starting it in a high HP setting is not good in the cold mornings. So I would turn my key on and reset the F5 to stock, after starting it would die. It happened a few different times so I started changing it to stock before I shut it down for the day. Not happened again. I don't know. Kind of like a bad CPS.

You are correct, I did mean the back of the selector switch. I duct taped my chip in when I installed it like Guzzle recommended so I didn't think that it would come loose but you never know. Maybe when I got out, I jammed the floor mat up in that direction. I will check it when I get a chance and see if that had anything to do with it.

I have been switching mine back to 1 since Ron mentioned that it was better to run it stock until it warmed up. I usually do it while it's running. The thing was, the truck had already been warmed up and was on 3 when it did it. It's only been this one time but something definitely came loose. I am going to check the fire wall and the chip at the PCM and see what I find this weekend. I'll let you all know
