Is this right?

We have two 2005 6.0 4x4 work trucks that are driven city and highway. Both only get 11mpg. We use fuel additive in both. We also have two 2004 6.0 they both are used exactly the same as the 2005s. One is a 4x4 and it get 18mpg and the other is a 2wd and it gets 22mpg. Did Ford do something diff? What can we do to increase MPG? Do we need to chip the 05s?

Thanks for any help
Paul

I have an 05 CC 4x4 and I get aroung 13 to 15 mostly city driving not pulling anything. I keep the RPM's at or below 2000. I bought the truck 7 months ago and when I first got it I only got aroung 11.

The turbos were replaced in both of the trucks. Do they need to be reflashed?

Everytime I get a flash the MPG goes down. Your 04's may have a older flash

I would definitely get the new flash. It will help with injector life and cold start issues. I hear about MPG's going down constantly, but it should make no difference. It actually helped mine.

I usually get around 15 with city driving. Lowest tank 13.8 mpg, highest 16.6 mpg.
