In case you can't tell, I'm kinda a rookie at this type of stuff... I took auto shop in high school 25 years ago but nothing since. After looking at some aftermarket Edelbrock heads I know I can't afford the money for those. Are there any stock heads that would be an upgrade? I have plenty of access to tow yards and pick and pull yards etc. in my area.

Just me but you might want to look into better heads. Next to the E6SE heads, the D8OE's are the next best thing in boat anchor technology.
