You have an IDI engine and they seem to do well on WVO.
If you wish to run WVO you need to convert your truck so you can supply heated fuel to the engine or you risk coking injectors and rings.
The other choice is build a processor and learn to make BioDiesel out of the WVO.

If you can find some old propane tanks (100 gallons or so) and can weld, you can make a killer biodiesel plant relatively cheap. I am running one now that I just got a month ago and I use the air compressor to vacum and blow everything around.

Can you post some pictures of your setup. Sounds interesting.

I will try to get some pictures before the weekend. I don't have my dry washing setup finalized yet. I have been using an improvised Amberlite Column that came with the processor, but if you use the manufacturer's rates for columns (about 0.3 gallon per dry pound of Amberlite per hour), it takes too long to wash the fuel. But a 10 gallon experiment with Magnesol this past weekend was successful and I will probalby be using that in the future. The Magnesol turned out some BEAUTIFUL apple juice colored fuel.

Just need to be a good scrounger, or be like me and partner with someone who is. The only things we have bought are: a titration kit, 100 micron strainer, and a pump. Not including chemicals we have spent maybe $150 so far. Will probably buy a couple cone bottoms to weld on a couple barrels off e-bay.

hmm. wonder what the flow rate would be for that, how much it would lift, etc. might try it on the next one or to tranfer it between tanks! the hose would be less than 1/2 inch?

Hey! Another bluenoser

I have been making bio for 3 years now. Have an '03 TDI with around 40K using it, and a '97 F350, with around 3k using it. No problems whatsoever, and I run 100%. Just got an '06 Smart and we have just started using it too.

Only problem is people stealing, or sabotaging my oil.

Apple seed processor build

Anyone around Raleigh NC, want to help out in building one of these biodiesel processors, I believe 2 heads would be better than one during this process.

I have a location for the build.

There are some barrels with waste water, grill grease, etc. They are taking the good oil out of my barrels, and then dumping this crap in them!

WVO blend

A friend of mine has 2 newer 7.3 powerstrokes and one runs with a heater kit for the WVO and the other uses a 75% WVO/25% diesel blend. They both have at least 40k on this set up with no problems. He quite using biodiesel. I have about 1700 on a dodge with no problems. I think its hot enough in texas not to have "coking problems"
