Is anyone having a problem with the throttle being sticky on a 2.3 liter ranger around 05. had mine replaced right after the truck was new and now it's doing it again. Any help would be appreciated.
if it happens when cold, lubing the cable may help ( The cable may be freezing up). You may want to clean the throttle plate and body as well. There may be a TSB out on this? possibly
What year is your ranger my 2003 has had that problem since I bought it.It use a plastic throttle body and I think they have had issues. But mine wasn't under warranty so I live with it. I won't go to the trouble to replace it unless there is a metal replacement.
P.S. Mine has nothing to do with temperature.
It does it all the time weather is not the issue and the cable is free. This happened at 3000 miles and the throttle body was replaced then under warranty now I get to replace about 100.00 bucks will be doing it today. Ford dealer says they are not having a big problem but I thought I would ask the group.
