I'm thinking of a revision for the EBV Exhaust brake for the auto trans but I need the diagram for the TCC switch. I was wondering if anyone used resistors for the PWM for the TCC. I figure instead of having 2 switches for the exhaust brake why not relay it and have only one. Please post the thread for the instructions or the webpage with the instructions.
Now that it has been found... I was wondering if the TCC is Grounded to activate it? Also I have a Gear Vendors in mine so which side do I use ECM Connector Side or Harness Side to still keep the Gear Vendors working in this conjunction? I am just one big Cluster ______ aren't I? I just want a near free Factory Exhaust Brake just like my new ***** counterpart.
Kenneth, you need to be careful about exhaust braking with that gear vendor unit. Remember, it shuts off when you drop below like 30mph or so. Not enough driveshaft speed to engage the clutches. It was just a thought when I read your sig. And damn, what a steal. That GV unit is almost 3k by itself. Good find.
Yea I though it was a good find. I actually bought it with one problem where it doesn't shift 2nd automatically and has a 3/4 shifting wierd. But either way all gears work. The guy wanted 6500 and I said I'd give 4500 he said how about 5 and I said what the heck I'll take it. I was afraid of a bad trans but been driving it like this for over 5K miles never lost a gear except the GV. I fixed it today when troubleshooting it. I though it would be the GV Buffer and that's what GV said. I guess it was a bad power connection on the connector. Wow you are up early... It's 2:30 here. I always switch off the GV when slowing down just so it slows down faster.
No, I'm not up early. I'm on second break at work. LOL Who do you talk to at GV? Jeff is the guy I always talk to, and he's always been good to me. Yeah, you have to watch that solinoid, I had issues with one as well.
I think I talked to Jeff as well. I am sure I had a loose pin in the 7-15 pin connector on the GV Buffer. I have a slight leak on the GV unit itself tho. I hear the solenoid on the GV unit is $$. Gee.
The 2 diagrams if you click on the two links above are mind boggling to conjoin. especially w/ a gv to worry about.
I'm not gonna hurt my brain by clicking on them. What are you talking about "buffer". And where is your leak on the unit?
Mine has a control unit but also has another thing they call a buffer that is a aluminum housed secondary controller. The leak is as I see it the rear seal on the gv unit
Kenneth, I believe it's a normal yoke seal. I bet if you ask Jeff, he'll give you a part #. And other seals or gaskets are dirt cheap. He sent me a couple of seals for like $5. Never seen the buffer controller. Mine only has the brain that everything hooks to.
I have a question on this. Can you just put a wire tap into the purpe/Wellow (?) wire for the TC, run wire to a witch then ground? Will that interfear with the ecu's control over the TC? Or am I all wrong here? I want to do this when it gets warmer out.

No cause it's a ground but I'd splice it rather than tap it cause we know what these scotchlocks will do.... tell me how to post a picture and I'll show you how to wire up a exhaust brake with one switch and still let the ECM function the ebv when exhaust brake is not in use
Heck I don't even know how to post a picture. I read the write up you posted but still don't understand it to much. But I am not going to do this for a while till it warms up so I have time to study and gather parts that I might need.
