Help, glow plugs?I
Hello,anybody here?
Hi,my name is gene and I just became a new member today.I don't know anyone here but I could sure use some help.
I have a 1996 e450 with a 7.3 turbo dissel. When the weather is cold,I have to give it a shot of starting fluid to get it running.This morning it started and ran for about 30 seconds and then shut down as if you turned the switch off.When I tried to re start it it would'nt and I noticed that the glow plug lite on the dash was not on.I checked the fuses and had a 30 amp blown.After replacing it,it tryed to start but it blew the fuse again.Does it sound like a bad glow plug or what do you think is wrong. I also unpluged one of the harneses to the valve cover,replaced the fuse again,and it ran but sounded like it was not hitting on all cylenders and while it was running,I repluged the harness back up and the motor quit and blew the fuse again.
If someone can give me some info on the matter I'll be happy.
