Trac Loc??????

Ok guys, really what is trac loc? I have a door tag H9, which last time i checked was trac loc. The reason i ask is because today it just got done snowing a bit and i came to a stop sign and i was turning left, well i hit it to the floor and broke loose, well it felt like only the passengers side tire, which one would have broke loose in a limited slip truck, did. Definatly looked sweet in the rear view mirror but is there a point where the trac loc lets one tire spin faster?

You have a typical LS diff for a truck this age. These diffs were not setup to provide much grip.. unlike the LS diffs from a muscle car for example which is damn near a spool. No.. Ford stacked the clutch packs with steel pressure plates side by side so it only prvided a small amount of slip limiting when new, nevermind a hundred thousand miles later. Luckily the fix is easy. Get a few extra plates from a junkyard or order a rebulild kit, and restack the clutch packs in a normal order with alternating friction and pressure plates. With this 30 minute job you'll have something that works 500% better, a solid 2wd every time you step on the throttle. If you're a serious offroad buff shim the cluch packs even tighter.. enough to make putting the S spring back in a royal pain in the ***, and you'll have a muscle car traction.
