ford ranger no 4x4
2001 ford ranger 4.0
on the fly 4x4
turn switch to 4x4 high nothing.
No lights come on and no lights flashing
both fuses are ok.
If i put it in 4x4 high what wires do i test to see if its getting power at the motor.

Good luck-How does one check a relay switch-and if all fuses are o.k. then what? I replaced the transfer case motor and still zero-Do other vehicled other than Fords have this problem? My 96 Tahoe has never had one--Relay box,tcm,relays,bad wires,switch-it could be many things.Ford really gave it to us this time.I will remove the new tcm in the Spring and will have to crawl under the truck and manually turn the engagement for it to operate.Are there any manual hubs that I can try.I am sick and tired of this junk that was purchased.

If your truck has pulse vacuum hubs you can replace them with manual hubs from AVM but if the TCM is not functioning it still won't do you any good. Find the relay and pull it out. Find another relay under the hood that is the same if there is one and swap them temporarily to see if the TCM functions. If it does then you know where the problem is and then you can go buy a new relay. I'm just suggesting that the easy to do and cheap things be looked at first. It may be something else entirely but that is the process of elimination.
