brake question

88 f -150, did a brake job on it about 8 months ago, everythings been fine until yesterday when the pedal went almost all the way to the floor. the truck stopped but not in a hurry. i pumped em up and was fine for the next 5 stops and then it did it again, kinda scary when it happens, and i hope i dont need to stop in a hurry cause it wont. anyways, yall think there still might be air in the system or master cylinder is going bad?

mine did this once before the master cylinder went out. however, once it went it went. you could check the caliper pistons for leaks. if the seal is bad around them, your breaks can do what you described when the get hot.

if you pump them up and they hold without sinking its most likely the master

Sounds like the master cylinder. If a line blew of course the pedal would not harden up with pumping. Just for the heck of it, though, check the reservoir. If the fluid level is right where it always has been then a M. C. is just about a sure bet. (as sure as anything automotive can be anyway)
