Stuck Wastegate Lever

Stuck Wastegate Lever
Just want to let everyone know about my experience with installing the ATS ported shroud on my '02 (186,000 km). I did a search and didn't find anything describing this.
First off, I had no problems with the ATS itself.
Anyway, started the installation when the truck was warm. Got to the point of removing the actuator arm from the wastegate lever (you know, the one with the dreaded c-clip) and left the job for the night.
Came out the next morning to a cold engine and found the wastegate lever was ceased 90 degrees from where it attaches to the actuator arm. Tried everything, it wouldn't budge.
After a ton of swearing and nearly complete removal of the turbo, my brother suggested to heat up the area around the wastegate with a small propane torch. A little heat and wouldn't you know it, the lever decides to swing properly.
I don't know what caused this. Regardless, I'm hoping this post will help someone else avoid the frustration I experienced.
