7'' Stack Pics!

7'' Stack Pics!
Well I finally got around to taking some new pics of the stacks/truck. Stacks have been on for a few weeks, but I haven't had the truck out until this weekend.
Install took some time, as I modified things from the Grand Rock kit. I am very pleased, especially with the noise level. It is not bad at all. I have ridden in stacked trucks that rattle, vibrate, drone and shake everything in the truck, especially at highway speeds. Thankfully mine do none of that. I can run the highway with radio on at normal level and hear fine or run w/out radio and not get a headache or ringing ears. I was worried about that.
The stacks are as low as they can go. I wanted them flush with the top of the cab, but these are 1.75"-2" above the cab. Y pipe is against a peice of diamondplate on top of the bedliner. I could cut the bedliner out and drop thm 3/4''-1'' but decided against that. The bedliner helps reduce metal-metal contact and possible additional noise/vibration.
Now I really need to get some B codes to roll the coal. Smoke is okay but can't do much with stock injectors and 7'' stacks...that will be fixed. Also, apparently having stacks makes everyone think you want to race!! Trucks, ricers, etc. all think they need to show-off...LOL! Man do they look stupid...
Here are some pics:

I said it before, and i'll say it again. Dual 7" stacks is too big for a short bed. Especially with toolbox too. I like the idea of stacks and i'm glad you have them, but now youre going to need alot more fuel to shoot smoke UP and OUT of 7" stacks instead of just rumbling out with low velocity.

Thanks for the comments! I am very pleased.
Kris, to each his own. I could not be happier with them. Toolbox even turned out better than I expected. As for fuel, well I think I covered that with the B-Code comment. (Motor build date of July 99) BD's will fill them out fine. It's a slow process, as I do things as they are paid for. Be nice...we're all Ford fans...

Keep in mind, this has been a 365 day a year work truck for three years. You would think it was a trailer queen, but far from it. I run a landscaping/lawn care business and this has been my personal work truck. Tow trailers 6 days a week, plow snow w/ skid of salt, etc. I keep it in good shape because I run it, but it is a truck that has been worked and well maintained, NEVER abused. I have finally retired the rig, bought a replacement, and always said this would be the retirement present! It's a fun truck now, but still will be used.
So, sure it cuts down on the bedspace, but not as bad IMHO as say a truck cap. I've got other trucks to use and several open/enclosed trailers for any large hauling.
Anyone who knows me knows I am a workaholic that saves my coin, so this is a nice treat for me

But they do really match the truck, it looks awesome though. I bet cleaning off the soot spots is a major pain!

Have not had any water in them, so no soot problems yet...
