86 Balljoints

Well im getting lowered i beams i was just wondering if the ball joints were pressed in the i beam or in the spindle i heared it was both ways but not year specefic. 86 f150 standered cab 2wd inline 6

If you have ever done any frontend work, you know about the tapered shank that all auto manufacturers use to assemble frontend components. This is what is used to hold the balljoints in the spindle or some people call it a knuckle. The balljoints are pressed into the axle beam.

so will i need to pressout the old ones to put in the new drop beams

Yes. A pickle fork will be handy also to break the joints loose from the spindle.
