quick question

i have a 2005 150 supercab with the 5.4.I have read there are issues with the drive shafts being out of balance and vibrating some. also injector issues my senerio some days the engine will idle smooth as silk. some days it will be just a little rough. nothing to make you think something is wrong just for me noticable. i get a vibration some times around 50mph it seems like it is rpm specific and it seems to go away once the converter locks up.if the drive shaft was out of balance it would get worse with speed right. when the engine seems to idle smoothist the vibration isnt there. has anyone had problems with injectors and idling a little rough. no lights have come on. i have read the tsb on th etruck and i am trying to narrow it down before i take it to the dealer and complain. they will want to kep it for days im sure

I just started a thread about what sounds like pretty much the same issue you're having. "04 5.4 rough idle...". I been looking at the TSBs as well. I just got mine back for the 45 mph vibration and don't want to let it go right back for who knows how long! It runs fine, I just want to know what it is. Please share any info you find about this. I'll be sure to do the same.
thanks,
mars

will do, what did they do to your truck for the vibration, what did they determine to be the cause of it.

I would rule out that the parking brake is not hanging up. I and many others have had this problem, and it usually causes a vibration which starts @ 40 - 50 mph. I also attributed the need for rear axle seal replacement (because of the heat generated) to this issue on my truck. And I only felt the vibration a couple of times.

They decided the ring and pinion gear was worn enuff that it was causing a vibration and replaced them.

i have checked the rear brakes after a good 45 minute drive. and they were warm but nothing any different than the rest of the disks. both rear break pads have the same amount of pad left on both sides. while checking the breaks i did notice the front right tire has some cupping going on and the other front doesnt maybe i need to have the alighnment checked and have the tires balanced and rotated. the tuck has 14,000 miles and they havn't been done yet.
