Mark..
Inspirational pictures of the build.
I am looking into replacing the side step sills on my 56 as well.
Any pictures of that work you did in progress?
Any tips on how you accomplished that portion?
Nice MILL!!
Wow--that is super-bad!!! I have 1 truck in progress like you. I have the cab in base-coat and sitting on the frame that is por-15 silver. I am installing a 292 and 4 speed and keeping it more like the original with some small improvements-----not like a 460 with 8 barrels staring at me---LOL That looks mean and it is still in the garage!!
I have built quite a few 56s and now have a whole fleet, but you have got to get rid of the speed channel!!!! LOL ............Bill
Looking good...do you know what the compression ratio is on that 460 with the flat-top pistons? I was going that route with mine but the engine builder talked me out of it.
had .030 over 460 with kb flattops and 69 heads and i was running 11.o:1 cr ratio . had a rather lumpy cam though that bled of some cylinder pressure so it'd run on a mix of premium and racing fuel . you know if you guy's dont stop posting these pictures of nasty big blocks one of my flatties could very well be in danger of being replaced and it'll be all your fault ! that'll never happen i'll just find another truck to put one in hee hee
I plan on putting 3 inch with 40 series original flowmasters. The roof in the garage is insulated, on a day like today I can get it up to about 65 with my wood furnace. Like the truck the garage is a work in progress too.
