steering wheel replacement question?????

steering wheel replacement question?????

Do you have to use a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel on an 07 f150.???...............the dealer says no...just take off bolt and wheel comes off.......tried it and it will not come off.......any suggestions????

I watched my Ford tech friend when he removed mine to install the cruise control switch;he used both hands and pulled on it and it came off.

BTW,did you wind up keeping the new steering wheel? You could have saved well over $100.00 or more had you gone with just the cruise control switch! Ah well,live and learn!

I bought the whole steering wheel new with the switches mounted in it for 75.00 from a company in wisconsin..............I pulled and pulled and that damn wheel would not come off!!!!!...............did you have to re program the computer for the cruise???........some say you do some say you dont..............thanks

Thats a dayum good price!
You have to grab that sucker and pull and wiggle on it until it comes off!
And yes,Ford has to flash the computer to program the cruise control.I had the total job done for $100.00!

no not yet taking it in to dealer..they will charge 100.00 to install and flash...............didnt want to break something on it.....I was pulling like crazy......these ford dealers crack me up half say it cant be done with the new wheel..the others say it can......youd think they of all people would know...............this website gives better info than the dealer................thanks

You could pick up a steering wheel puller from the local parts store and use that to pull it. Just a thought.
