01 5.4 Supercrew engine noise
When under hard acceleration in the 40 mph range, the engine appears to sound like its pushing air out of somewhere on the drivers side of the truck. You can hear this inside the cab and it's fairly loud. It almost sounds like a loose sparkplug that the air is blowing past. If that was the case, it seems I would be getting a code or the truck would be running badly, and it would happen anytime the truck was running. Like I said, I only hear it under hard acceleration around the 40 mph mark and it lasts for approx 5 seconds. It is definately coming from the engine compartment on the drivers side. Any ideas?Could a loose spark plug cause this?
