Another racing icon has passed......

Art Arfons of Green Monster fame passed away in December at 81. jd

I met him and the original Green Monster at a dragstrip in Caddo Mills, TX in the 50's.

It was the Green Mamba I believe...doesn't his son still run some of the jet powered stuff??

nope. it was the green monster, and it is his daughter that still runs the jet powered stuff.

Nope, it was Green Monster. The one I saw had an Allison V12 out of a P51 Mustang.

My mistake..Green Monster is correct. Tim Arfons(his son) did at one time might still, drive jet powered stuff as well. I saw him in Milwaukee on a jet powered Quad.
