Re-evaluate drivers liscense?
The DMV called him in for a special hearing and re-test. They were extremely respectful and as helpful as they could be. In the end, he could not pass the written or driving tests. He had not had a driving test since 1943.
Studies using a realistic driving simulator have shown a steep drop off of driving skills, on average, at about 70, so that should be when we need to be retested at each renewal. I refuse to join AARP because I disagree with a lot of their politics.
In order to legally continue flying small private aircraft, I have to take a complete medical exam and two hours of instruction every two years.

Sorry about your truck, but how do you keep your windshield so clean. I had to look twice to see if it was there. Even if you took the cracks out I don't think I could get mine that clean with windex. The damage doesn't look to bad. Did it bend the frame? Crack the radiator and what else?

As far as the windshield I hate looking out a dirty window. Frame is up in the air as of now, don't know if its bent or not. Can't open the hood or the passenger side door.
Why are insurance rates for a male under 25 years old 3+ times higher than others. One reason is that they receive more traffic citations than any other age group. Maybe they should be tested every year.
Most older drivers obey they law. They do not speed, they use turn signals, they do not tailgate, the yield the right of way, they are more patient and don't go into rages, and so on.......... I realize there are exceptions, and have seen several that really don't need to be driving, but that is the case with any age group.
I am amazed that some people whine and cry when they are made to do something that may save their life, the life of their loved ones, or keep them from being maimed the rest of their lives. Doesn't make sense. jd

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
legalized discrimination. everyone would be going crazy if they based it off of race, even if they presented statistics proving the fact.
And Jim just look at every statistic on the country and you will se that chart is NOT in line, the worst drivers in teh country but all reporting stats nationally shows that it's under 18 and over 65 that chart shows it's 30-60 which is exactly oppisite of all stas used by the insurance industry and your statement alone proves that is a false stats report by stating that drivers under 25 pay three times as much yet that chart actually shows that drivers under 25 are 30% SAFER then drivers 25-34, and 25% safer then drivers drivers 35-54 then it shows that suddenly at 55 drivers become over twice as safe? not hardly and the insurance companies and everyone else knows it. That chart is bogus and propoganda it's not even based on realistic numbers at all. Example that report that is several years old states there is 201 million lic drivers in the country, yet the current statistics is that there is only 196 million total even to this day oops there is a 5 million driver error right there
http://www.statemaster.com/graph/trn...s-total-number
And that doesn't even include the fact that the year that report is based off the number was considerably lower. The report is using numbers based on people that are OLD enough to have a drivers lic, not ones that actually do. Thus the major drop in stats for older drivers over age 65 is becuase a increasing number over that age don't drive at all, yet they are included in the stats thus diluting the numbers to make older drivers look better in paper (actually had to ask my dad about this, real dad this time instead of step dad cause I know some will get confused due to me mentioning dad being a retired truck driver I just call both dad and I know who I mean) Dad is 65 and has a masters in statistics so is a great source on how they are twisted to make them say what you want.
Also that report doesn't take into account as someone else mentioned accidents by miles driven. You asked for further proof well ok here is another link showing accident rates by age and miles driven and if you look it's highest below age 20 (in direct contradiction to the one you posted) is at lowest from ages 43-60 then steadily climbs from that point forward also in direct contradiction to the report you listed and this was just one of over a thousand hits I got when I did a search to find a site for you.

and another one
http://books.google.com/books?id=L8u...9-0h8P-Mq601hk
and gee here is a chart showing fatality rates in also direct contradiction of your report and this comes from government sources but is based on Iowa

Do I REALLY need to go on?

as far as insurance goes, 2 things, your driving record and how much it would cost to fix your car (if full coverage). that should be all allowed by law, everything else is basically discrimination of some sorts and much of the info is none of thier business.
