does anyone know where to find a set of decent-sized primary tube headers for a 78 f-150 with a swapped 460 that are chassis exit. i'm pulling this truck in a stock class and one of the rules is headers may not exit the fenderwell.
thanks
p.s. by decent-sized i mean at least 1 7/8" primaries and 3" collector
Yeah Hedman makes headers for a 78 with a 460, but only 2wd. They do make headers for 4x4's but they are fenderwell exit. [link:www.landlproducts.com|L & L] headers are the way to go. They are expensive but well worth the money.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Apr-02 AT 03:04 AM (EST)]I have chassis exit headman headders on my 4X4. They work great and I just painted them with Por 15 high heat paint this week. But the truck is an '87 and I don't know if they would work on an '78. They are a tight fit and have a pipe that curves in front of the starter. It is a split pipe that removes for changing starter. We also trimmed a slight bit on the passenger side frame to get them in easier. To do it over, adding them on a motor swap is the way to go.
