Ok, after trying to find the "Search" button, and finding it no longer available, I would like to hear from some the folks here who have replaced their 2001 and older factory headlights.
I know there are many posts about upgrading them, but being unable to access the search function necessates a new post.
I would especially like to know what people think of installing the 2002 & 03 headlights. If there was a vast improvement, or just a moderate gain. Frankly, I'm tired of having to flip on my 4 KC Daylighters when on the highway. I just know someday soon, some enforcement is going to ticket me for their use.
With all my traveling from California to Colorado (moving, so a monthly trip), I couldn't begin to count how many Deer, I've managed to avoid. And, while going through Utah last week, after locking up the brakes both on the truck & trailer, I just barely missed a Moose (that got my attention) !
. . I figure the odds are begining to add up against me, unless I do something about the poor headlights on the 01
they just look cooler, but the lighting is the same.
Ive got the 03 headlights on my 99.5. i can say it is a big difference. they are drop in, and if you add some silverstar ultra bulbs, then it gets even better.
I like the 05-07 head lights, but I also like the Amber marker lights of the 99-01s but the better head lights of the 02-04s with silverstars is my perfect setup.
One thing I didn't mention about the grille. It is a 2005 OEM machined to fit a 99. All the mounting holes in the top are already a perfect fit. The bottom clips are repositioned to fit 99 to 03.
I still have the original amber turn and side markers and the original grille if
anyone needs them send me a PM.

See my gallery JD. thats what I did.
very nice Robin, gives the truck a whole new look.
I hadn't noticed that Brandon, that looks really good hard to see because of your brush guard. That will probably be my set up because I like my amber signals to still give it that older look.
