Hello: Been reading for a while and decided to say hello. I have a 94 f250 7.3 idi turbo 4x4 180000 miles. My coolant temp seem to be rather low. With a hand held temp guage I get approx 120*-125* on the upper radiator hose and in the rad with the cap off. What is the factory themostat temp in these trucks? I am thinking 192* or 195*. I have read about the 203* thermostats for the powerstrokes. Will one of these fit the idi or is there one made for our trucks?
The stock gauges don't mean much.
About all they are good for is to say it is higher or lower than where it normally runs.
With a new radiator, new thermostat and a mechanical temp gauge, mine sits right on 195 most of the time.
210 would be pulling a big hill.
With a heavy load, that number would be in the 230 range.
