I have a small challenge. I have a NP435. The motor that used to be behind it WAS a 351M, now it is a 460. I am using a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. (DF70000)

Heres the dilema
The clutch will not disengage!

The details:
The old flywheel (from 351) sat further up twards the front of the truck, whereas the flywheel for the 460 sits about 1/4-3/8" further back than the OE flywheel. This appears to be because of the fact that the crank has more material sticking out past the end of the block on the 460 in relation of the 351M (about 1/4" more)
The flywheel I am using is from a 360 motor that had a 3 speed tranny. ('76 F150)
The clutch fork is experiencing full travel, the clutch pedal feels like something is stopping it when it nears the floor
A taller or shorter throwout bearing will not help I have tried adjusting the clutch rod all the way out, and the clutch still wont disengage

My questions are this.

1. Is there a neutral balance flywheel out there that has a negative offset twards the motor (that came from a ford product) that will bring the flywheel 1/4" back?

2. If not, will the flywheel from an '83 and later truck have the offset I need to move flywheel closer to motor?

I have used a 390 flywheel with no problems. Check the archives as there has been discussion on this before. Good luck

Got it figured out.... The flywheel has been turned so many times that the springs on the clutch disc were grabbing on the flywheel bolts. I got to find some low profile bolts and I am all set.
