Post heater core

my 90 ford e-150 302 5.0 van
feel warm like does not burn you out
i took it a part i noticed there was no type core seal in it
would that explain warm heat or is there suposued to be
a seal around the core when i changed the core 1 year ago
i noticed a ruber like gasket around core i should had took it off
but i did not

Yes, there should be rubber/foam seal around the core so the air from the fan has to go thru the core and not around it. You can easily fab up a good seal using that foam water pipe insulation from the hardware store. Use adhesive to attach the stuff to the core.
