What is the best way to use Sea Foam? Should I remove and drain my filter then fill it with Sea Foam or should I just run it through a tank of diesel? Also does it work well in a gasser? I don't think my injectors have been cleaned in awhile. Thanks in advance for the info.
I have heard a lot of guys use Seafoam on gas engines.
Check out www.jeepforum.com to get more info on Seafoam in gas enignes. (use the search function if you care to look it up) Quite a few of these guys swear by it in older engines....
I used Sea Foam in my '89 Chevy Blazer with a gasser SB before I rolled it last summer.
The Blazer had the TBI injection and I would pour half of the bottle down the throttle body as the truck was running, pour the rest into the tank and let it run until it stopped smoking. It would typically fill the block with white smoke, but it did clean the injectors. I would do this ever 6 months or so, and I would pick up an extra mpg or so after the injector cleaning. I would use it again in a gasser. It was probably worth the $10 to smoke up the neighborhood.
I had an extra bottle that I dumped into the tank of my '94 IDI Turbo and I didn't notice a difference. I use Diesel Kleen, and my injectors and return lines are all new, so I don't think there is much cleaning for the Sea Foam to do at this point.
have used seafoam in two stroke and 4 stroke gassers with exceptional results. resurrected several small engines with it. as far as diesels, haven't used it, just use diesel kleen faithfully and keep CDR valve clean.
