4x4 trouble
i have a 2002 f250 v10 4x4. plowing snow yesterday and the four wheel drive started acting up... with hubs in auto it does not engage at all. if the rear tires start spinning it will occasionally lock in one of the front tires for a split second...
any ideas as to what the problem is?

I would start with the hubs, try putting them in lock, and see what happens. You may have a vacuum leak some where does the A/C turn on when you flip the switch. Also do a search for 4x4 problems the auto hubs are very common problem in these trucks, many people switch them out to warn manual hubs and never worry again. I personally love my manual hubs, I just lock them in, in the winter, and turn to free in the summer.

mine dont lock either when in auto, and i switch to 4x4. well the problem got worse. my hubs lock for a second or longer when i hit a bump. sometimes its 1 hub. this is when im in 2wd. makes loud horrible noise
