What type engine control system is in the 2001 F-150 with V8 (4.6)and auto. transmission(4R70) I have old Sunpro for EEC-IV and MCU systems. Just shows thru 1986.Just wondering if it will work.
Truck is 2 hrs away, belongs to Bro-in-law, and hated to make trip with wrong scanner. Appreciate any info. Seems like engine miss but runs OK when taken out of Overdrive. Have already changed fluid. Thanks for any input. Carroll
Thanks for replys. Since this AM, I found Haynes Manual for 2000. Confirms in 2000 that is EEC-V. This leaves me SOL. Oh well, go buy something else??Thanks, CA
Again, you don't have EEC-V in a 2001 4.6.
Last EECs went out in 96 for most cars and trucks.
It's now called a PCM with OBDII programming and even at that, the system is now obsolete with the new CAM system being the standard since 2004/2005 model years.
