Purchased a 99 Ranger XLT 4x4 last month, two days ago the right turn signals quit working. Checked the fuse (didn't know it had separate right and left side fuese) and it was blown. I replaced it and still no Rt turn signal lights. It did not blow the new fuse. Checked the bulbs and they appear to be good. Does this truck have separate right and left flasher units? If not then I probably have a short. Does anyone have any good ideas about tracing out shorts?
Thanks for all your help!!!
I had the same problem on my 03. take the bulb and connectors out of the lens. I had to replace both the wiring harness and the L-shaped plug that the light does into. Both are FORD dealer parts and will run about $40 for both. Hope it helps!
Use a common test light. Does neither turn signal work? See if you have power to the light sockets. If no, note the wire color, then trace back. I would take a quick look at the wiring coming out of the column to see if voltage is present. Wire color is white with a light blue stripe. The turn signal switches have a habit of failing. jd

Did you replace front and rear harnesses or just one? How do I know which one?
Thanks
I replaced the rear. The prongs that go into the harness from the L shaped connector were worn down. But then again I also had the front blinker working. It doesnt sound like you have any signals working. I would trace the wiring and check for a short as far as you can. Once it gets into the frame, it will be harder, and the last resort would be to take it to a dealership/mechanic if you have exhausted all you can do. Josh
