Just a thought/ I think I am going to uninstall Norton first. A buddy of mine installed a corporate version without asking me. I have been using an anti virus from computer asscociates that we get for free from cable. Even microsoft is not being able to install all of it's updates.

Okay that explanes a lot right now...LOL computer asscociates is total garbage and I have worked on that issue a number of times..Uninstall that and I will find you a link for a great program that will work for you and it is free..
computer asscociates has been know for a lot of issues including loss of data

Frank after you uninstall that other program install this... http://free.grisoft.com/ And run that and reinstall your drivers and if still having trouble call me.
