Just saw a MINT black 56 F-100 BW go for 75000$ on BJ. Sadly, it had a ZZ 502 under the hood.

I don't disagree with you 55 F350 but it is cyclical. Remember when ANY 196X Mustang or Camaro was going for $20k Plus?

Now they can't get rid of em for half that. Common sense eventually wins out and the market corrects itself. Only the truly rare cars retain their value.

yeah i'll agree woth the cyclical part but i find it so dain frustrating as the whole world all of a sudden thinks that p.o.s they've had in their yard for the last twenty rusting down is worth what they see on tv .plus whenyou sit and watch i just get aggravated with the jokers on there running the auction and their we know everything attitudes and the dumb a--ez bidding . i'm just so amazed at how stupid people are . they like that 56 , could've probably bought that outside of the auction for half what they paid for it . but hey i was on bj tv showing the world how much money i have and how stupidly i spend it !!!!!!!!!!!! the i'm a celebrity for 15 milliseconds thing i geuss .

I agree but lets break it down purchase of the truck lets say 2 grand, 502 what’s that 5 grand, tranny another grand, rear end 500, new front end 800, new interior 1000. now the man hours to get it like that even at 20 bucks a hour 2000 hours is 40k so were up to 50k bj charges a boat load of money to sell it I know it makes it tough for us and the guy with the rust bucket in his field doesn’t know what it toke to make it that way but if someone wanted to buy something form you for way more then it was worth would you say no.
And I was looking for a 67 fastback till that movie came out now you can’t touch a piece of junk for 5000.

personally i dont try to gouge people if they have an interest in something i got . ask bigwin he got some nice trim and a nice factory radio , power pack and wiring from me pretty cheap . i would always like too make what i got in it but im not greedy like the biggest part of these people . they watch this show and see dollar signs then the stuff sits and goes to hades as average guy cant touch it . also if you're building a car /truck for profit at an auction you are the devils apprentice to me . oh and yeah those idiots in the audience doing the goofy hand signs and yelling , yeah they'd only yell once by me and i'd be escorted outta there . ! in short no i have not nor will not screw someone knowingly . i gotta conscience . and i'm not in it for money just the love of anything with an internal combustion powerplant . heck if i was to sell my 53 i'd ask for 3700 which is what i got in it right now . no it's not for sale !

The big money auctions don't really bother me much and are amazing to watch. I with you guys cant believe the outrageous money these vehicles go for, Since 90% of the Jackson auction vehicles never even cruise the streets, I look at them more of works of art. I mean shoot they may as well be auctioning paintings right? The downside is yes it really does hurt the little guys pocket book who are into it for the hobby and actually plan to drive their rides.

I have mixed feelings - for those of us who already have a vehicle or two (or 20!!), it's a good thing - our trucks become worth a boatload of money. And I don't see the parts going up TOO awful much. Plus, it's more incentive for the repop companies to reproduce things that previously weren't available.

However, if you are looking for parts vehicles, the price has climbed. But then again, it's also climbed when some people buy 5 or 10 parts trucks, just sitting in the field. It's all supply and demand. For the most part, here on the forums, people are more than generous, I've gotten a lot of parts very cheap, or even free, and to me that's what it's all about. Yet there are some who have 20 trucks, and act as if every part on it is gold. I don't think I'd EVER have a parts truck, because it would soon be a project truck, and only one for me, thanks! Now, if I were given one, that would be a different story, but that ain't gonna happen.

So yeah, to me it's a good thing, and as someone said, it will probably correct itself. But, parts vehicles are going to get a lot harder to pick up for a couple hundred bucks. But, it is preserving the value of those that people own...

so if someone came up to you and said i'll give ya 500 bucks for that frame you had in the yard you were trying to give away youd say no. i'm just saying a guy has a truck sitting in the barn the guy who builds trucks for profit finds it offers the guy 5k for it the guy across town with the truck in his barn hears about it and now his is worth 5k i dont like it but its happening

J - my sentiments, too! And as I recall, you saved my bacon with exhaust manifolds!

I don't really have any extra parts as of yet, but I'm sure I will. I do have several "duplicates", but haven't decided which to use as of yet. But I'm sure over time, I will have some. My enjoyment is with my truck, not making money. Not that I find a problem with making money at it, not at all. But it's hard to keep paying "gold" prices for rust...
