flashing lites

On a late night somewhere in ND my buddy got his truck stuck in a whole crap load of snow. As I was pulling him out my little off button for my overdrive was flashing well it went away but I was courious what it was! 03 7.3 auto trans 4x4

I think thats like the "check engine" light for the tranny. Its probably throwing a code or while you were pulling you probably overworked it maybe lost some fluid.

Could be possible overheat or valve body acting up.

Chances are it stored a soft code. I'd pull the DTC's and see what's there. If nothing, and fluid is full and fresh, all you can do is keep an eye on it.
