Windshield Wipers

This morning I had a windshield wiper break on my 04 EB. Looking into replacements, I found the goon that owned the vehicle before me had 20" blades on it. I always thought the Expedition had abhorrible surface area, now I run 22" like I found out it is supposed to have, now that's wipin a windshield . But something caught my eye, the old ones on there had a pin that locked them. These new ones have holes too big for the pins, and they don't come with the pins, nor does the instruction manual for the wipers show installing the pins. Is there supposed to be pins on them? If so where could I get new ones? (the one on the damaged blade was near sheared in the whatever it was that happened when they were running this mornign). Thanks alot.

i dont think there are pins. my wiper arms have a hook at the end and the wiper blade
slides over that and locks on
maybe someone changed your wiper arms for some reason. go get yourself some factory motorcraft blades and see how the fit

Mine also have the hook, no pins. FWIW I think 20" blades are factory. That's what the manual stated when I went to Advance Auto. I opted for 22" blades as well. Makes a pretty good difference. My Super Duty comes with 20" blades also. I put 24"ers on it. HUGE difference.

I swear by Bosch Icon 24"-ers on my Expedition. As long as they make these and I need them, I'll buy them. Expensive though.

I always install 22" for the drivers side and 21" on the passenger side, I found the 22" does not have full contact near the bottom of the windshield on the passenger side, which causes ice build up when using them during the winter months.

I use RainX 22" both sides and never looked back, tried a few other brands but in mud/rain/snow/etc. these stand up to it all the best. Most auto books for wiper sizes (at least for 03's like mine) show 22" wipers for the front and 16" for the rear so dunno if it differs 02'-below cause my 03 is the new body style year for the 03-06 so being that you are a 04' it has to be the same since it falls into the same year body style category. Mine is also the Clip Wipers too so i wonder if that guy messed with your setup or something cause if im not mistaken most are the clip on blades.
