Help PLEASE?!?!?

I recently lost my billfold, of which my wife had stored my card which had the code for my auto door key combination. I need to know if it can be reset. I know it probably has to be done by Ford, but does anyone know/have any experience with this? I have a 2008 F-250 Lariat Super Duty Crew Cab. Am I in for a lot of money for such a fix or can it even be done? Thanks for any constructive advice, and yes, I realize it was not a smart place to keep the code, but I wasnt aware it was there. So please dont hammer me with stupidity remarks. ;-)

Not a big problem. Your delivering dealer should have the original code for the doors. With that number you can unlock and reset to whatever numbers you want. Probably available from FORD customer service also. Call your dealer and your problem should be solved. Good luck. (i.e. even though you change the number when you take delivery, the original number on the card always works)

thats not the problem

I know the original code, and I know how to set the code and reset it. What worries me is somewhere out there is my billfold, with my drivers license, which has my address, which also has the unchangeable(I believe) code on the card to my truck, parked in my driveway. Short of taking everything out of it at night I dont want stolen possibly, I am lost as to how much Ill be out. Just hoping someone on here has the knowledge for the procedure to change the factory code if it CAN be changed. Surely the factory code can be changed, but I am short on money after being out of work for 15 months for a shoulder reconstruction, and if I can figure out how to do it myself I would like to. besides, if you knew my dealership you wouldnt want to go there. I took my truck there 5 times to get a sensor fixed, and three times they damaged my truck, once they didnt even fix it, and the other time they had to replace the leather seat after the mechanic punched a hole in it, then had to take it back to have the electric heated seat plugged in AFTER they replaced the seat. Doesnt plant confidence in my mind. Thanks for any help anybody may be able to provide, and thanks to you for your advice. Maybe I just didnt word the original post correctly. Anyway I appreciate the help and the time

Just a little tip it won’t help now but. I have found a good place to keep the original code is on my cell phone. It saved me when the code that I programmed no longer worked. Not sure if it was erased by the dead battery or the re-flash at the dealer but it was gone. I always have my phone with me there’s probably a better chance of me forgetting my truck at home.

Sorry, I asked FORD the same question/problem. CANNOT BE CHANGED. If you have read the posts here, it would be easier for a bad guy to break into your truck than punch in the code. Much like your valid request, who would know if a bad guy came on to the FTE and wanted info on how to change original number. Probably why FORD makes the original number unchangeable. I would be more worried about my driver's license and possible theft of identity.

as everbody has all ready said-the original code will always work--unless you change the module-which comes with a totally new code rendering previous--useless

Perhaps someone here knows a method to disconnect the door keypad. If you could disable it for a few months then reactivate it, it may provide some peace of mind.

That's what insurance is for it gives you assurance and peace of mind at the same time. Just call up your insurance company and ask how much coverage you have for personal items and do not leave anything in the truck that cannot be replaced if it bothers you so much.

As others have mentioned the code cannot be changed. You can however replace the PCM with a new one that has a different code. It will not be cheap, but it may be worth it to you. Also, your insurance company may help you out with the cost to prevent future claims against items stolen out of th vehicle.
