Small crash BIG $$$

Well, CRAP! I dinged some lady the other day on the way to work...

If you look closely, you will see TWO THOUSAND BUCKS worth of damage. Yup, I was shocked at the estimate too.

Anybody got suggestions on aftermarket mods to replace the bumper or grille? Now that Storm has my hood, I'm going to have to do SOMETHING to up the "ghetto" factor on my ride

I was thinking about this grill i saw from an older thread:

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fe/0025.asp

It has LED backlight and it is actually cheaper than the ford replacement but I am not sure about the all chrome look on the frame compared to the body color. Any thoughts?

Oh, also the Big Blue Oval is missing on the aftermarket grill too. I would miss that.

just picked up my 08 SD today. its a FX4 which means the grill is color matched too. i don't like the color matched grill personally. i think the chrome adds a lot to the truck. I'm going to switch mine out. go for the chrome!

just my 2 cents...

I feel your pain. I hit something couple weeks back in my 2500hd and that chrome grill cost $470 bc of one little split. plus a little fender damage and it came out to $1300 in repairs.
I went the ghetto route on fixing it and only spent $200 for a 1500 grill of ebay and cut and glued the ugly black peice from the old grill onto the new one.
You could never tell anything ever happen unless you pop the hood and see some cutting and 2 sheetrock screws. haha
I could care less, its getting traded and theyll never know.

One of the site sponsors has a '05 conversion clip for the '03-04 trucks and it's something like $1400. It has bumper, grill, lights, brackets, pretty much everything except the fog lights I think. It might be worth looking at, then you could sell the lights to offset the cost.

The paint time on the new bumper and bumper pad is part of the reason the price is so high. Plus I know that grill is not cheap. Hopefully they put some new bumper brackets on the estimate for the right side. There more than likely bent.

Did you total out the car you hit??

i say go with a winchready or reunel front bumper but just the bumper, no guard and the grill with billet peices and DANG
Reunel goes for $1500 (color matched) and i think the Winch ready goes for $1450 (unpainted though)

As a matter of fact, I think so! It was a Subaru Legacy, and I tagged it above the rear bumper. Looked pretty bad.

Just what I need, a REASON to drive over people. Don't tempt me - haha.

Seriously, I am tempted to go the Reunel route. I wonder how hard an install that would be???

Just a couple of bolts that hold on the original bumper and then just swap the bumper and you are done, BUT i do recommend atleast 3 people to help you out since both bumpers are not light

I paid $312.00 for the True Blue HD grill. My brother works at a dealership and he informed me there was no code on a True Blue bumper, a new bumper needs to be painted.

Better check that headlight, those mount tabs aren't strong at all.

on thanksgiving morning, my nephew had a woman speeding down the road decide to take the driver side door off of his 02 as he opened it. luckily, he had not stepped out of the truck yet. it cost $3200 to replace the door.

and there was absolutly no other damage to the truck, just the driver side door.

They day I bought my truck, some body ran in to it at work looked just like yours except just the bumper had to be replaced. The bumper plus installation was $750, the bumper alone was $620, all chrome though, not painted
