Speaking of dim headlights. My 05 headlights are dim after I start it. After about a minute they get bright again. They stay bright after that. It's almost like the starter takes all the juice to start the truck. Reving the engine for the first minute has no effect.
the headlight housing lenses tend to dull out and turn white after a few years, try ebay ,and look into getting some new headlight assy's.I did and what a difference it made.
I also have an '01 X. I also thought that the headlights were pretty weak! My friend suggested that I swap out with the '02 headlights. No diffusers in the '02 and there isn't 195K miles of sandblasting as well as 7 years of UV light on the plastic lense. Supposed to be night and day difference. I have purchased the headlights, I just need the time to do the install. I will probably get to it by the end of the month. PM me if you want my opinion after the change.. or if there is enough curiosity/interest in the community then I will post my opinion.
I don't need the light so much in the city (Los Angeles) as there are an abundance of street lights. But when I am driving out in the desert, I sure wouldn't mind more light.
