Well I am new on here so sorry if I do something wrong. Ok my boss just bought an 08' F 250 superduty he is getting around 11 or 12 mpg and hes sick about it. Im a dodge guy and our cummins get about 24 mpg and I dont know anything about ford so what would help him boost this up a bit?
That's about the best he's gonna get with the new 6.4 Diesel. I'm assuming he bought a Diesel since you own a Cummins..........The new strokers are complete Powerhouses, but Ford was more concerned with compliance standards then mileage. Take a look around the 6.4 forum on here and you'll see what I mean......
He has a 3000 acer ranch so he hauls alot of cows/horses and hay and his other truck was a f 250 too Im not too sure the year tho. He said he got better mileage with his old one so he's kinda mad now. How much would a chip and a CAI help it?

First off...not sure what year your cummins is getting the 24mpg, but if it is a 6.7L with all the NEW emissions junk, then you have a winner! (not likely though) So...you just cannot compare your old cummins to the new 6.4L PSD. Again...it has to do with the emission requirements. Apples to Oranges.
Now...for the 6.4L PSD...here is a BIG tip. Nothing is going to help the fuel mileage...unless you want to VOID the warranty. FORD is not playing around with the 6.4L PSD...and any mods (chips...exhaust...air, etc.) will end that warranty.
You didn't mention how many miles on the 6.4L PSD? That makes a bit of difference too. The more miles...the better the fuel mileage should get.
FORD has realized that the mileage is so bad, that they are going to offer Build 3 trucks with 3.55 gearing to help...instead of the 3.73 of the build 1 and build 2.
