Return on investment for Exxon was 9.2 percent, WalMart was 19.5 percent. Check your wallet to see where the money is going. Not to be political but I see Wally World a bigger threat than any government conspiracy.

Sorry but, it sure isn't going down around here! Back on 2/12 here in Wake Forest, NC (just north of Raleigh) diesel was $3.339 for quite a while (over 10 weeks). Yesterday, it JUMPED to $3.599 and regular gas was $2.899 and also JUMPED to $ 3.159 !! Time to get out the buggy for the horses! :-)

"Time to get out the buggy for the horses!"

Hows the price of oats? And many cities require particulate traps on them.

lawngrease, your wasting your time on that one. NO clue at all..just unfounded rants. I learned a while back, while it may be fun to poke at rants like that, it is impossible to teach logic to one so founded in emotion.

Technically we don't buy oil from Chavez. He owns Citgo, thus Citgo refineries have been vastly upgraded to handle the super heavy crude that Venezuela produces, and sends here. You and I the consumer that purchase Citgo petroleum products are the one supporting Chavez. That is why Chavez is all lip service, refusing to send Crude to the US (his own refineries) would be the proverbially cutting off your nose to spite your face.

A few years ago Bush passed a bill that says every gas station must have a ethnol pump in ten years. I think the high price of gas and diesel is to head us in the ethnol direction witch means the prices of dino is just going to keep going up. Its a singh of things to come.

Latter and good luck.................

We here in Western Washington have all of you beat. Our gas/diesel prices are supposedly the highest in the nation. Just this morning I paid 3.80 a gallon for diesel. The lowest we dropped in the last month was 3.55 but it didn't last long. The reason for our high prices is due to the state tax on fuel. It's one of the highest but has done NOTHING to help the traffic congestion or fix our potholed streets. Polititians are to blame....

'speaking of politicians.. here in BC, the California of Canada, the latest provincial budget announced another tax (green tax - carbon based fuels) of about .03 per litre on gasoline, but about .07 per litre on diesel and home heating oil. That is roughly another .28 per gallon of diesel on top of the current costs.
I always thought that in the long run diesel was more efficient and can contribute to less carbon emissions. I think it's a tax grab on commercial truckers, but even people with MB 'smart cars' will be affected.
I may join a veggie diesel co-op.

Man, that really sucks. I'm sure that your southern neighbor (Washington) will follow suit and match B.Cs initiative...

What will you pay when WalMart is the only retailer left standing? People tend to think the now instead of the long term effects.

I'm done now.
